A Delphi study identifying operating room nurses’ non‐technical skills

Aim To identify the non-technical skills of operating room nurses. This is first empirical study that includes scrub and circulating Design A three-round modified online Delphi technique was used for this study. Methods Eligible participants (n = 106) with a minimum 2 years nursing experience were selected expert panel by self-recruitment from population (N 1640) Data collected through surveys, based on crew recourse management theory, between April September 2020. Descriptive statistics analysis quantitative data, deductive thematic qualitative data. Consensus determined using stability survey rounds. Results consensus obtained to maintain categories situation awareness, leadership, decision-making, communication teamwork. The data revealed several novel skills, including independent decision-making leadership skills.
